Financial Controller

Our client is a group of business units spanning different industries such as automotive, tourism and manufacturing.  They are currently seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their Accounts department in order to sustain their growth.

 

Whilst reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer and the Head of Finance, the selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining proper accounting records of the company;
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and yearly budgets;
  • Analysing variances between actual results and budgets;
  • Preparing annual financial statements and liaising with auditors;
  • Assisting the group finance team with the audit deliverables of the Group;
  • Preparing and Submitting of Vat returns; and,
  • Assisting the Chief Financial Officer and the corporate finance team as needed.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least three years’ working experience in a similar role;
  • Be in possession of their MQF Level 6 in Accounting, their ACCA qualification or something similar; and,
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English.

 

The ideal candidate must be organised, have excellent problem-solving skills and can work on his/her own initiative. S/he must be able to plan and deal with unexpected changes on a day-to-day basis and must be able to work with tight deadlines.
