Food and Beverage Manager

Our client, a leading Company operating in the FMCG sector in Malta, is currently seeking to recruit a Food and Beverage Manager. 


Whist reporting to the Commercial and Operations Manager, the chosen candidate will be responsible for:

  • Achieving sales targets for the Food and Beverage function and events function;
  • Establishing new sources of sales and revenue;
  • Establishing outstanding business relationships with internal and external customers and with prospective customers;
  • Overseeing the food and beverage operations, making sure that staff keep all records up to date according to legal requirements and established procedures;
  • Keeping track and control of stock levels;
  • Making sure all outlets have all the legal requirements;
  • Ensuring cash procedures are followed and reports are filled as per company procedures;
  • Negotiating with suppliers for better products and prices, and overseeing orders to ensure they fulfil purchasing requirements;
  • Ensuring cleanliness of event spaces, setups and maintenance of any furniture used for the various events;
  • Managing and leading people, keeping track of their performance, overseeing new staff training and ensuring staff rosters, time sheets, and record sheets are in line with Group HR requirements; and,
  • Motivating staff and escalating disciplinary proceedings with Group HR as necessary.


The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the food industry;
  • Have a strong working knowledge of related computer software, including restaurant management software; and,
  • Have the ability to adhere to budgets and meeting financial targets.


The ideal candidate must be organised, have excellent problem-solving skills and can work on his/her own initiative. S/he must be able to plan and deal with unexpected changes on a day-to-day basis and must be able to work with tight deadlines.
