Head of Treasury

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking to recruit a Head of Treasury.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements set on the company;

• Ensuring that the company has optimum liquidity and liability structure;
• Achieving the target set for cost of funds;
• Actively managing the investment portfolio of the company;
• Achieving the budgets set on Treasury in terms of Interest income on Treasury assets and trading income;
• Ensuring successful on going relationships with Correspondent companies, market counterparties and other partners;
• Presenting key reports to management and board committees such as the Asset and Liability Committee, Executive Committee, Investment Committee, Risk Committee and Board of Directors;
• Developing new and profitable product lines within the given departmental responsibilities;
• Ensuring that Treasury staff are appropriately managed and developed; and,
• Making a full contribution to the strategic development of the company.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of seven years’ working experience in a similar role;
• A minimum of MQF Level 6 in a related field;
• In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, risks and appropriate controls; and,
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

 

The ideal candidate must be organised, have excellent problem-solving skills and can work on his/her own initiative. S/he must be able to plan and deal with unexpected changes on a day-to-day basis and must be able to work with tight deadlines.
