Operations Assistant

Our client operates in the shipping, travel, and logistics industries, as well as being involved in a range of diverse sectors across Malta and internationally. They are currently seeking to recruit an Operations Assistant to join their young and dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Boarding of vessels whilst berthed in port;
  • Communicating with local entities responsible for vessel entries into port;
  • Documenting submission for free pratique purposes;
  • Preparing loading and discharge information;
  • Distributing and coordinating with terminal for the required documentations prior or post vessel arrival and departure;
  • Keeping in contact with the vessel charterer or owner during vessel operations;
  • Checking of import manifests and preparing delivery orders or notice of arrivals for clients; and,
  • Invoicing of import shipments.

 

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Previous experience ideally in a similar environment;
  • Previous experience in an office environment;
  • Basic overview of knowledge of shipping and vessel movement as an asset;
  • A Driving licence;

A strong sense of teamwork and exceptional organisational and time management abilities are prerequisites for this role. This position calls for someone who is willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis.
