EQF/MQF Level 3 Award in Supporting Wellbeing and Mental Health of Self and Others (5 ECTS)

This qualification is suitable for adult learners who want to strengthen their understanding of mental wellbeing and build practical skills to support themselves and others, particularly HR staff, teachers, carers, volunteers, community leaders, and anyone interested in promoting wellbeing in everyday life or the workplace.

This Award provides a practical introduction to mental wellbeing and basic mental health support. Learners will build a stronger understanding of wellbeing and mental health concepts, recognise common signs of distress, strengthen their communication and active listening skills, and develop self-care strategies that can be used in daily life.

The programme also introduces learners to mental health first aid and signposting, helping them respond more appropriately when someone around them may be struggling. It is designed for individuals who want practical, usable knowledge that can support both personal wellbeing and everyday interactions with others.

This programme is delivered on a part-time basis over 6 months through blended learning. A total of 80% of contact hours are delivered online and 20% face-to-face. The total learning time is 125 hours, made up of 25 contact hours, 95 self-study hours, and 5 assessment hours.

The modules include*:

  • Foundations of Personal Well-Being – 1 ECTS
  • Recognising Signs in Others’ Mental Health – 1 ECTS
  • Self-Care Strategies and Resilience Building – 1 ECTS
  • Effective Communication and Active Listening – 1 ECTS
  • Introduction to Mental Health First Aid – 1 ECTS

 

*All modules are compulsory.

*This is a single-award programme and no intermediate exit point is offered.

This programme is offered by misco Business Academy and is pegged at MQF Level 3, carrying 5 ECTS. misco Business Academy is a licensed education institution – Licence Number: 2014-FHI-004.

 

Entry requirements:

  • A minimum of MQF Level 2
  • The ability to read and write in English
  • Basic digital competences
  • An interest in mental health

 

This programme is intended for adult learners aged 19 to 65. It can support progression into roles where individuals may provide basic mental health and wellbeing support, such as wellbeing champions, support workers, HR professionals, educators, and mental health first aiders. This programme does not lead to a regulated profession.

 

Delivery and assessment:

Face-to-face sessions take place at misco, Fino Buildings, Level 1, Notabile Road Zone 4, Central Business District. Online sessions are delivered on Zoom, and Google Classroom is used as the main learning platform for course materials, activities, communication, and learner support.

Teaching methods include short lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, role-play activities, video lessons, quizzes, guided reading, and self-study tasks.

  • Each module is assessed through a multiple-choice test delivered on the online platform
  • Each test contributes 100% of the module grade
  • A pass mark of 60% is required
  • Learners who do not achieve the pass mark may resit within 3 weeks of the original attempt

 

Grading is as follows:

  • 80–100%: Distinction
  • 60–79%: Pass
  • Below 60%: Fail
